Bringing Earth Tones into the Classroom

This week I taught my first classes at Carleton University – returning to the school where I once sat in these same rooms as an undergrad architecture student nearly 20 years ago.

Now, after working across architecture, landscape, urban policy, cultural heritage, and environmental storytelling, I’m back teaching Design, Climate, Environment to 175 mainly first and second year undergraduate architecture students.

Design doesn’t start with forms — it starts with worldviews. With how we listen, perceive, and understand our place within larger bicultural systems. If I can help students sense that from day one, the rest will follow.

Honoured to share this new chapter.
